Just in time for ArtPrize 2026, ArtRat himself has arrived at his namesake gallery! Crafted by his creator, Sadie Rothenberg (), ArtRat will be handing out goodies, shaking paws and sniffing babies throughout . (If you’re lucky, you might even spot him riding the trolleys during our neighborhood’s Heart🧡Prize celebration Sept. 26 and 27!)

ArtRat loves you, and the next few weeks have him scampering for excitement! Be sure to stop by the gallery and say hi! 🎨🐀

'CHROMARIFFIC!' AT ARTPRIZE 2026: Michelle Leidich (“Milk and Honey,” VOTE ID #35663) is a representational artist based in Columbus, Ohio, who enjoys painting still lifes, landscapes, portraits. She also likes creating paintings that express her Christian faith.

SAVE THE DATE: Sept. 26, 2-6 p.m., Michelle will team with fellow ArtPrize artist Meghan Hernandez (“Heavenly Dwelling,” VOTE ID #59618) for an afternoon exploring faith and art. Looking for divine light? You might find it somewhere ordinary.

Ruimin Ge (VOTE ID #95779) presented "First Strokes," a calligraphic appetizer for her large interactive piece, "Unspoken," for ArtPrize 2026 ... And guests received beautiful calligraphic bookmarks created from their own hopes and thoughts!

Her participatory art installation will let visitors anonymously share something they have never said out loud — “a regret, a memory, a truth, a grief, a love, or a silence they still carry” — that Ruimin will turn into a live calligraphic illustration!

ArtRat Gallery has another big, big show in the works for ArtPrize 2026! "Chromariffic" will feature 15 stellar artists and explore how color informs the emotional and physical impact of their work.

This year's ArtPrize runs Sept. 18 to Oct. 3. (ArtRat's opening reception is Sept. 19, 5-8 p.m.) And don't miss the Heartside Business Association's fourth annual Heart 🧡 Prize activation Sept. 26 and 27!
