It felt good to be back in the studio today! 🎤

I couldn’t help but take a moment to reminisce abut recording my commercial and narrative demos three-and-a-half years ago, in this exact spot.

The room arrangement has since been reversed — so my view from the booth is the opposite of what it was then — but my memories haven’t changed.

Spent some time in the studio this afternoon, testing microphones to see which one works best with my voice, while running through audition materials for a potential gig.

Here’s what I tried:
1. Shure SM7b
2. Neumann U47 FET
3. AKG C414
4. Electro-Voice RE20

They all were really good, but one of them was a clear winner. Any guess as to which 🎤 I finally chose?
