We love a little embellishment right in the nook above the cupids bow of the upper lip!

Philtrum piercings, aka the Medusa, are one of the most popular oral piercings we perform.

Just like any other piercing in the mouth there is a risk of damage to teeth and gums with traditional through-and-through lip piercings with Flatback studs. Keeping the jewelry as fitted as possible, by staying on top of downsizing, reduces this risk.

Alternatively, placing the piercing vertically with a curved barbell virtually eliminates the risk for gum/tooth damage! Vertical philtrum (jestrum) piercings are anatomy dependent however and can be a little trickier/take more time to heal.
