Subject: A Home for America’s Forgotten Children
Dear Sir or Ma’am,
My name is Hung T. Phan, founder of the Protect the Children of War Foundation. I am writing with the deepest respect and the deepest urgency.
We are the Amerasian children of the Vietnam War — the children of American soldiers.
We came to the United States under the “Homecoming Act.”
But we were never given a home.
Today, after 50 years of surviving war, hunger, and homelessness in Vietnam, we came to America hoping for safety. Instead, many of us are homeless again. Most cannot work because we have no ID or driver’s license. Many are sick, hungry, or living under deportation orders to a country that is not ours.
We are not looking for luxury.
We are not looking for money.
We are looking for a place where our family can rest.
I am asking you — with all my heart — if you can donate or lease (even for $1/year) any of the following:
• An unused building
• A small house
• A community center
• A warehouse room
• A church hall
• An old fire station
• Any property with a roof
We will repair it.
We will clean it.
We will turn it into a safe, warm, loving shelter for the people who have suffered enough.
The government has no program for us.
No one is coming to save us.
So I created this nonprofit to save each other.
Your help — any help — is not just a donation.
It is giving life, dignity, and hope to people who survived the worst pain a child can live through.
If you can assist, please contact me directly.
With respect and gratitude,
Hung T. Phan
