🚨 NOVEMBER 16th @ 11am🚨
After years of hard work and meeting with the city, it’s finally here! Emerson park is going to open to the public. Thanks to the people who sat in the on the meetings and had inclusivity towards the input of making this happen.
Sitting in the masterplaning meetings in 2020 we would have never thought this would happen. But through pushing the narrative about skateboarding and action sports through business and customer service, we banded together to get it done. The group that made this happen was The Grand Valley Communith Skate Foundation. Not an organized foundation, but a group that was passionate to speak for those who didn’t have a voice in the room.
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to influence the city to make this become a reality. Thanks to and their team. Thanks to for hearing us. Thanks to the group of dysfunctional skaters who tried so hard and took time when it felt like there was no end in site. Thanks to for making the compelling speeches to city council and being our spokes person. Thanks to for the knowledge and influence on how to approach the city for a project like this. Thanks to and his family for being supporters of the skate community with and for sitting in to speak to city council and getting shoved to the corner not being able to speak because the time ran out and bedtime approached. Thanks to for the awesome graphics he made for our foundation and showing up to the meetings spitting knowledge to parks and rec. Thanks to .sale for supporting the skate community and putting together events that no one else is willing to do to keep the culture alive. And thanks to all the other dudes who showed up when they had time. It’s all of us and the influence the internet had that made this happen. It takes a tribe and no one singular person could get this done the way we did.
In our mind, it’s the legacy MF left behind. We are proud to have gotten the opportunity to help engage with the public and influence Mesa county to get Central redone, Fruita’s Reed Park done, and now this! All 🖤
