Tonight!
Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great weekend! Hope you are enjoying Autumn in Grand Junction!
So, Christmas is approaching and keeping me busy already. The church held its annual Bazaar today. "The Unpaid" performed Christmas music for the lunch. I definitely need to practice more. But we had fun and people enjoyed it. We'll keep working on Christmas. Remember, we've been invited to play/sing Christmas at the Grand View (Senior) Apartments on Tuesday, December 16, 2 to 4. Let me know if you can come. The more the merrier!
You all are also invited to Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving, from 11 to 2 p.m.. Like last year, you can join in the band, playing Christmas music, you can help serve if you like, or you can just come and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings. Everyone is invited. We'll be setting up by 10:30 a.m. You can join the music as long (or short) as you like. It was great fun last year and people loved it!
Monday night: We have, "They'll Know We're Musicians," if any of our "nuts and bolts" folks want to play along.
2nd, we'll revisit (by request) , "Wires and Wood" the guitar players song.
Rosemarie requested another oldie but goodie to learn, "Unchain My Heart" by Ray Charles. Should be fun!
I'll take on "Lady Madonna" by The Beatles. Seems fitting for much of today's world, unfortunately. Good reminder for me.
Rich has a new Ed Shearon song: "Best Part of Me." I believe that Heather will help him.
Finally, I'm adding a favorite Christmas song of mine: "Christmas Bells" by John Gorka. Based on Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem of that name, written during the Civil War. I believe, soon after his wife was killed in a fire and after his son was severely wounded in battle.
Sounds like another full set of great songs! Hope you can join us!
Blessings,
Kevin Keith Arensman
