AMERICAN VAMPIRE PREMIERE

First Street had the opportunity to sponsor the premiere of American Vampire at the Avalon Theatre right here in Grand Junction.

We showed up to support the film, catch the premiere, hang with the community, and even put a few tattoos down along the way.

There's something special about seeing film, art, tattooing, and our local community all come together under one roof. This also marked the first sold out independent movie premiere in the Avalon Theatre’s history of showing independent films. Huge thanks to everyone behind American Vampire and the Avalon Theatre for putting together such a killer night.

We're proud to support the people creating cool s**t right here in our own backyard.

There's something different about sitting in a room with people who are willing to slow down.

The Grimm Tiger Book Club isn't about reading as much as possible. It's about taking one story at a time and using it as a reason to gather, think, question, and connect.

In a world built to keep us scrolling, this is our invitation to put the phone down for an evening and have a real conversation.

Our first gathering will take place on Sunday, September 20 at 4:00 PM at The Grimm Tiger.

We'll spend the afternoon discussing our first book, getting to know one another, and choosing the next book together. If you're joining us, bring along 2-3 books you'd like to nominate for future meetings.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're an avid reader or simply looking for meaningful conversation and community.

To reserve your spot, text "BOOKS" to (970) 975-3039.

We'll send you the title of our first book and any additional details once you've signed up.

We hope to see you there.

The doors are officially open.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Grand Opening of The Grimm Tiger. Seeing the space filled with artists, friends, family, and supporters was everything we hoped it would be.

The Grimm Tiger was built to be a place where artists can create, collaborate, exhibit their work, and become part of something bigger than themselves. Saturday was just the beginning.

A huge thank you to every artist who trusted us with your work, everyone who showed up to support the opening, and everyone who has believed in this vision from the start. We couldn't have asked for a better way to begin this journey.

There is so much more to come.

Gallery exhibitions. Artist opportunities. Creative collaborations. Community events.

And our apparel brand is coming soon.

We'll be sharing more about everything we're building in the weeks ahead.

This is only the beginning.

Welcome to The Grimm Tiger.

Forever True.

Tattoo lineage is disappearing.

Every artist comes from somewhere—but without documentation, those connections get lost over time.

We recently visited the Lucky Tattoo Museum and spent time in the archives with Jimmy Whitlock and his team. What’s preserved there is more than history—it’s the foundation of everything we do today.

This is exactly why we created a Tattoo Lineage Survey—to start connecting the dots and preserving this craft the right way.

We are also searching for more information on Charlie Barrs. If you or someone you know has anything—photos, stories, or references—we would greatly appreciate it.

Tattoo lineage is the foundation of tattoo history—but much of it is disappearing. Our visit to the Lucky Tattoo Museum explores why preserving lineage matters and how you can help.
