Northwest Musical Productions Performing Arts Northwest has seen noted success in the last twenty plus years and looks forward to continuing these successes this year.

Under the direction of Jeff Vyhlidal--Vocal Music Director at Northwest and Kari Vyhlidal--Theatrical Director, Northwest Musicals look to continue soaring to new heights. Selling out shows consistently for the past decade, Grand Island Northwest has certainly garnished a noteworthy reputation in the Midwest musical theatre realm. But as with any production agency, the show would not go on without

the countless hours dedicated by the passionate administration, staff, parents, and students of the Northwest school district. The vocal and instrumental departments of Northwest have seen noted success over the past few decades--ranging from consistent superior rating at State Band Festivals to Grand Champion show choirs--this school's Fine Arts are a point of pride within the Grand Island Community. And with the full support of numerous community corporate sponsors and dedicated parents--the students within these productions push the "average high school musical" to a completely new level.

Gomez is the passionate and devoted patriarch, always caught between his love for Morticia and his duty to his family. With charm, wit, and a dramatic flair, he brings humor to every dark dilemma. His loyalty and boundless love make him the heart of the Addams home.

Myles, a junior, is the son of Kate and Drew McDermott. He is the dance captain in 14 Karat Gold Show Choir and a member of Goldtones. Myles was Harry Bright in Mamma Mia last year, Damian in Mean Girls as a freshman, a lead dancer in Tarzan, and King Ben in Descendants at Create 308. Myles is ecstatic to play the role of Gomez Addams this year in Addams Family! Myles represented Northwest by being a member of the 2024 Nebraska All-State Choir and was awarded the top tenor 1 of the region. Myles is also a proud participant of the NTA program and performed in the showcase ensemble in 2024. Myles has always had a strong passion and love for performing since a young age and plans on pursuing acting after high school.

Myles would first like to thank Mr. Vyhlidal, Mrs. Vyhlidal, and Mr. Hansen for their ongoing love and support. The program they have built at Northwest is truly incredible and has impacted us so greatly. The V’s and Hansen are constantly pushing us to be our very best while also being incredibly kind and caring humans. Myles is beyond grateful for his incredible directors! Myles would also like to thank his extremely talented and amazing castmates, who he spent his entire summer with, rehearsing and forming cherished bonds. Myles would lastly like to thank his family for the undying love and support they show for his passions and aspirations in musical theater. Myles could never be where he is without his Mom and Dad’s sacrifices and forever love and support they show him. Now, please enjoy this thrilling show. Morticia is the elegant and commanding matriarch of the Addams Family, with a grace as dark as midnight. Every glance and gesture drips with mystery and power. With her cool confidence and haunting beauty, Morticia reigns over the Addams’ delightfully eerie world.

Emma, a senior, is the daughter of Jeff and Kari Vyhlidal. She is the dance captain of 14 Karat Gold Show Choir, Section Leader for Goldtones, a member of the Vikettes Dance team. Emma is a team leader for the BIONIC club, and on the Youth Council for the EPIC discovery program, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Emma is also a participant in the NTA program and performed in the showcase ensemble. Last year, Emma performed as Tanya in Mamma Mia!, and Karen Smith in Mean Girls as a Sophomore. Emma was also a member of the lead dance corp in The Little Mermaid as well as Tarzan, and a chorus member/dancer in FAME her 7th grade year. This year, Emma is elated to close her high school musical career as Morticia Addams in The Addams Family!

Next year, Emma plans to attend the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and study Human Physiology and Nutrition, with a Biomedical Science emphasis. Emma would love to thank her family for constantly believing in her and helping her through her journey. She would also love to thank her fellow castmates and crew for being her second family these last 4 years and supporting her through life. She would finally like to thank God for the privilege to get to do what she loves with the people she loves. Wednesday is the Addams Family’s darkly intelligent daughter, with a sharp wit and a taste for the macabre. Beneath her deadpan stare, she is discovering love for the first time which is a terrifying adventure of its own. Fierce, fearless, and fascinating, Wednesday takes center stage in this twisted tale. 🖤

Alondra, a Sophomore, is the daughter of Angel Ramos and Alexandra Figueroa. Alondra has always been so passionate about music and performing. She is beyond grateful for all the opportunities that she has gotten to pursue her dreams. Alondra is a member of Goldtones and 14-Karat Gold Varsity Show Choir. She has been a part of many productions including GI Northwest’s Mean Girls, Create 308’s Descendants in which she played Audrey, and GI Northwest’s Mamma Mia in which she played Ali. Alondra has also been involved in sports including Volleyball and Gymnastics, but her favorite hobbies will always be playing the guitar and piano. She is very excited for this year’s production of The Addams Family and for all to see just how hard everyone has worked to make this special. She would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Vyhlidal and Mr. Hansen for supporting her and for their dedication to this program at Northwest. This couldn’t have been done without them. She is also forever grateful to her mom and dad. They have always given her the support and encouragement for her to follow her dreams. She is very grateful for all the sacrifices they do for her and for their love that is greater than life. Uncle Fester is the Addams Family’s moon-struck romantic, with a love for the weird, the wonderful, and the whimsical. His childlike spirit and quirky outlook bring laughter and light to even the darkest moments. With his electric personality, Fester keeps the Addams’ world glowing. 🌙

Grayson, a junior, is the son of Stephen and Leisa Rowe. Grayson is a member of 14 Karat Gold and Goldtones. Grayson has performed in a variety of musical theatre productions across multiple stages. At Northwest, he portrayed Eddie in Mamma Mia!, was a featured character/Mathlete in Mean Girls, and appeared as an ensemble member in both Tarzan and The Little Mermaid. With Create 308, he took on the roles of Chad and Jafar in Descendants. Additionally, he performed as an ensemble member in Wood River’s production of Beauty and the Beast. Outside of musical and show choir, Grayson is the vice president of Northwest’s Student Council and a team leader in the BIONIC club. In his free time, he enjoys filming and posting on his YouTube and Instagram pages. Grayson would like to thank his parents and brother, Bennett Rowe, for always loving, supporting, and pushing him to be the best he can be. Grayson would also like to thank Mr. Vyhlidal, Mrs. Vyhlidal, and Mr. Hansen for being great role models and always being around to help. Lucas is a bright and hopeful young man, torn between his normal world and Wednesday’s strange and spooky family. His love for her pushes him to face fears and embrace the unknown. With courage and an open heart, Lucas proves that love can conquer even the creepiest challenges.

Blake, a junior, is the son of Jared and Ralae Noorlander. Blake is a member of both 14 Karat Gold and Goldtones, track and field, IBA, and is very involved in his church. He was a featured character in Mean Girls, his freshman year, as well as Mamma Mia, his sophomore year. This year, Blake is very excited to be playing the role of Lucas Beineke in The Addams Family! Blake has always been active in sports and music his whole life and has loved sharing his love for music over the years. Blake would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Vyhlidal for their constant support and always pushing him to do his best. Alice is a cheerful and bubbly woman, often masking her true feelings behind rhymes and smiles. Beneath her sunny personality, she longs for honesty and connection. When the Addams Family works their magic, Alice’s hidden passions finally come to light. 🌼

Molly, a Junior, is the daughter of Tessa and Corey Cline. She is a member of 14 Karat Gold varsity show choir and Gold tones. Molly has been involved in many musicals over the years. Last year, she played Rosie in Mamma Mia!, and was a featured character in Mean Girls her freshman year. Growing up, Molly was involved in many musicals, such as, Mary Poppins Jr, W***y Wonka Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, and Descendants. Molly has always had a passion for performing and loves sharing the stage with her best friends! Pugsley is the mischievous younger brother, known for his love of explosions, pranks, and anything that causes chaos. Though he delights in trouble, he fears losing Wednesday’s attention as she grows up. With his dark humor and loyal heart, Pugsley is a core piece of the Addams’ creepy clan. 💣

Colin, a junior, is the youngest son of Christopher and Jennifer Andrade. Colin is a member of 14 Karat Gold varsity show choir and Goldtones. Colin was part of the 2024 Nebraska All-State Choir. Last year, Colin was a featured character in Mamma Mia, a Marymount Mathlete in Mean Girls. Additionally, Colin played the role of Jay in Create 308’s Disney Descendants. Colin would like to thank his parents, who endlessly support, encourage, and push Colin to pursue his love for music, because he wouldn’t be where he is without their love. He would also like to thank Mr. Vyhlidal, Mrs. Vyhlidal, and Mr. Hansen for always pushing him to be the best that he can be, and for always being there for him. Mal is Lucas’ uptight father, a man who values order, control, and appearances. When he collides with the Addams’ eccentric world, his carefully structured life begins to unravel. Underneath his stern exterior, Mal learns there may be more to life than rules.

Nolan, a Senior, is the son of Jim and Jill Steinke. Nolan is a member of 14 Karat Gold Show Choir, and Goldtones Last year, Nolan played Father Alexandrios in Mamma Mia. He was a member of the Mean Girls ensemble. Nolan was also a member of the 2024 All State Choir. After high school, Nolan plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha to study Psychology and become a psychiatrist in the future. Music has been an integral part of his high school career and he is incredibly grateful to have the support system he does. Nolan would like to thank his brother and soon to be sister in law, Brett and Hayley, and his parents for believing in and supporting him no matter what. He would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Vyhlidal for creating a space where he is encouraged and feels welcome and gives him so many amazing opportunities. Grandma is the Addams Family’s eccentric and mysterious matriarch, full of odd potions and strange advice. With her cackling laugh and unpredictable magic, she keeps everyone on their toes. Quirky, kooky, and a little spooky, Grandma adds chaotic charm to the Addams’ world. 🧪

Addie, a junior, is the daughter of Anna and Ryan Hayman. She is a member of 14 Karat Gold varsity show choir and Goldtones. She played Sophie in Northwest’s production of Mamma Mia! As well as playing Evie in Descendants. She was also a featured character in Mean Girls. Additionally Addie is a two time Nebraska all state choir member. Addie is also involved in Northwest student council. For her whole life, Addie has always loved to perform, her favorite feeling is sharing her love for music with everyone who will listen. Addie is beyond excited and ready for this year’s production of The Addams Family. Addie would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Vyhlidal for this amazing opportunity, with their help she has come further than she ever imagined she could. She would also like to thank Mr. Hansen. He is extremely talented at what he does and without his help, none of this would be a possibility. Next, she would like to thank the cast and the crew for making the show extraordinary. Lurch is the Addams Family’s towering zombie butler, known for his slow movements and haunting stare. He rarely speaks, but when he does, it’s usually a deep, drawn-out “Bleh.” With his ghostly presence and undead charm, Lurch fits right in with the Addams’ delightfully creepy world. 🧟‍♂️

Julian, a senior, is the son of Tyler and Josephine Young. Julian is the bass section leader for 14-Karat Gold Varsity Show Choir and Goldtones. For the first time, Julian had the honor of joining the 2024 Nebraska All-State Choir, and was a top 2 bass in the region. He also was able to go to Nebraska State Track in 2024-25 as a part of the Northwest 4x800 meter run. Julian is aspiring to break the 800 meter record at Northwest. Julian has been looking forward to this year, and is trying to start it off strong with the musical The Addams Family.

Julian would like to thank all of the people who have helped him along the way. The Vyhildals have played a large role in Julian’s high school life, and have molded him into a person who is ready for his next step. Without the Vyhildals, Julian would not have ever joined the show choir, and missed out on the most important thing high school has had to offer him. Also, Mr. Hansen has also played a large part of Julian’s music career, as without him, Julian would never have been able to learn and understand music, as well as figure out what he wanted to do in music. Julian would also like to thank all of the crew members, Dad crew members, and all the unseen heroes that have helped him from behind the scenes. Lastly, he would like to thank his parents and grandparents, as without them supporting his every move, Julian wouldn’t have been able to pursue this passion, and fall in love with the world of music.
