I am doing a sketchbook challenge for the month of October with daily prompts. Doing the prompts has become like a journal. Today was the word “moose”.

As I get older, I really appreciate the Blue Moose in Grand Forks. It’s one of the few places downtown that you can take children. I’m at the stage of life where I get so little time with my toddler son that I don’t want to find a babysitter and appreciate being able to take him with me when I go places on my days off.

The woodsy cabin atmosphere reminds me of what makes Northern Minnesota special. Blue Moose has menus available for special diets, and it’s so special to sit out on the patio in the fall with friends and have their Oktoberfest specials. When we have friends out of town, the Blue Moose is where we take them. FYI they just named the moose Monty.
