In tandem with its production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, UND Theatre is proud to lead a campus-and-community reading experience centered on Ann Patchett’s novel Tom Lake, a novel about a woman whose life is impacted and parallels the main character in Our Town.

Both works explore memory, love, family, and the quiet beauty of every day life—inviting audiences to pause and reflect on the moments that shape us.

Since the Burtness Lab Theatre is hosting its final show this week. We wanted to take moment and reflect on just a few of the great shows that have been performed there since the 1960s.

The new lab space will be opening up in Starcher Hall in the Fall of 2026 and the old space will be now used for prop and furniture storage. Shows will continue to perform on the Burtness Main Stage.
