We were grateful to Beth for sitting for us today. She helped us out when Rosie modeled for us on the President’ Day holiday by switching her date. We miss Don who’s out with an injury to his hand, sustained when helping set up tables on Saturday. Hope you’re back soon! Thanks Beth for modeling for us today!

Music and art filled the Granbury Square at the Last Saturday Gallery Night event yesterday, with the strains of JazzFest to be heard a block away from Shanley House. Our Gallery and Studio were full of art, music and artists, as well. As our model Carol sat for our portrait artists, and visitors enjoyed the “Touch of Red” show in the galleries, our fellow artist Aaron Kirksey entertained us with energetic bluegrass selections on his banjo. There was some pickin’ and paint in’ and a-grinnin’ going on! Many thanks to Aaron and Carol for giving us another unique evening of music and art.

THE NEXT SUCH EVENT WILL BE MARCH 28. Come join us!

We missed our wonderful artist Don whose hand was injured while setting up, which sent him to the emergency room. Our love and the hope that he will heal quickly go to him and he’ll be back with us soon!

This adorable 10-year-old girl named Rosie gave up her morning off school on President’s Day to sit for our portrait group. She read a Harry Potter book, as a big fan og reading. We loved drawing her, and she had fun. We rose to the challenge pretty well of not making her look 10 years older! Thanks to her mom, our fellow artist Adrianne, for bringing her to us.

Suzie graced our portrait platform this week, thanks to Dawna, who was scheduled but unable to attend. She invited the lovely Suzie to sit in her place. We hope Dawna will come again soon. We really enjoyed the great color variety that she offered and made our session fun. Thanks so much, Suzie, and Dawna. And thanks to Sheri for photographing the portraits!
