In the last month I embarked on a very spontaneous journey…
I began drawing from the age of 5, trying to copy coloring pages as accurately as possible. In middle school and high school I took every drawing class I could. I also spent countless hours in the art room at the boys and girls club of goshen. I competed in art contests at different levels and even won a few awards. I loved drawing. I didn’t know it at the time, but it was an escape for me. I know this now because I don’t physically have a single drawing, never kept them. I would draw for the sake of drawing. I loved the feeling of being hyper-focused, and spending 4, 8, sometimes 10 hours at a time, drawing. It never felt like work, but rather like I just watched a movie or play, it was an experience. It gave me a feeling I wouldn’t feel again for years, over a decade to be precise. During that time I never gave drawing or art much thought, since I never even considered it could lead to a career. Well, a few weeks ago I met some of the best artist in the COE, picked up a tattoo machine, and ended up with this.
I’m very blessed to be given the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the area.
Gentlemen, thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity. It is an honor.
