The success of a man is the popular thing that we see, and the father is the least popular thing we see. As centuries have passed us, we have seen and learned a lot about the value of a man to this incredible power world we live in. God created men to be leaders, but with that responsibility became a tough part of leadership, and that is decision-making. Yes, we see the success, but we should focus on the value in how he leads his family. That is where success begins and ends. Our society has developed mixed reviews about the role of a man, but I see the role of a man as God sees it, how is he leading his home, with faith, with love and by example as he loves the church. Every Sunday morning, my late father who was a minster, would drive 40 minutes each way from our house to church to attend a men bible breakfast study at 6am, and he would come home around 8am, and prepare to drive back to church to attend the 11am service and sometimes to give the sermon, while being a principal Monday - Friday, and teaching nightly at the local jail to inmates.

I learned the value of leading my family by my late father's example. Each week, I drive and pick up both of my kids from their private schools in Downtown Phoenix, while attending my medical appointments at the Phoenix VA Hospital, and I come home and prepare to go coach the youth athletes for our USATF Track Club. I learned hard work is truly one of the values of a man. Thank you, Dad, for giving me that example of value through your actions, not words. Truth!

Have you ever been on a hike and the wind was blowing, the rocks were hard, the climb was large, but when you turned around the scenery made it all worth it? That is how life is like for me, I look at my birthday as a hike, the road is rough, the challenges are hard, and some days you just want to give up, but you look at your kids and see the value in your life, but you also see the value in yourself. You have a tough breakup, you lose a job or a friend. You must keep going to get to the top, and although you are tired, you must stay mentally tough. No matter how many steps it will take, no matter how many pains it will feel, you must keep going and you will win because you were created for victory.

This is the type of hope I love to challenge our youth of today, especially when I am coaching track. Will have an athlete that has so much natural talent and potential, but they lack that confidence in themselves, so I coach them to help them see their own vision, because if they can see it, they can realize it and believe in themselves. The life journey is a challenge but a reward within itself, and you are in control of your life journey, you are the conductor, director, coach of your life. Plan to succeed, not to fail.

Some may feel like they are walking alone, but you are not alone, even when you think you are, our heavenly father is walking in front of you, leading you, and he has his hand extended towards you, have faith, grab his hand, and follow him, and the delight of life will be good. The writing is in your map, and the faith you have in yourself is all you need. Do not give up, do not give in, do not waver, just believe, and keep striving for greatness. You were created to walk and climb the top of the mountain, go ahead, and watch the path of success with each step of the way. You Are A WINNER! www.travisangry.com

The lines represent the lanes, and the value in each lane represents the track sprinter and runner, as each athlete must stay within their own lanes. For the past six months, I have joined many great USA Track & Field certified coaches to lead and coach their own track club teams across the State of Arizona and throughout our great nation. I have witnessed a lot in a relatively short period of time as I have observed the activity of coaches, leadership, meet directors, clerks, officials and of course other parents. I have seen what separates the great athletes from the ordinary and I have witnessed errors in our youth and high school sports conditioning and development programs.

This weekend, AZPreps365 AIA State Championships for Track & Field was held at both Desert Vista High School and Perry High School, in Division I, II, III, and IV. I watched as many seniors competed for state in each of their events, and I watched as freshmen, sophomores, and juniors competed as many carved out recognition for themselves as fierce competitors and winners. As I observed these talented athletes, I kept thinking to myself, while many of these athletes are gifted with incredible athleticism, I marveled at the fact that many put in the full preparation needed and some did not. Tribute to Mama Meg

She is truly the crown jewel of my life and my spiritual mom of guidance. I call her Mama Meg, but her real name is Meg Britton! The light at the end of the tunnel is her waiting for me and I appreciate all that she has done for me in encouraging, guiding, and praying for me to reach for my full potential in life. I met Mama Meg when I was a young soldier serving in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Carson Army Base, in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was also a young married soldier and I had found a great church in the Northern part of the city call New Life Church, a large non-dominational church led by Pastor Brady Boyd. Mama Meg worked in the Family and Marriage Ministries Department of New Life Church and led a marriage counseling group that I had found for my former spouse and me, as we were struggling with our new marriage. When I first saw Meg and her husband Tim Britton standing at the entrance greeting couples as they walk in, I felt the connection immediately. I tend to drift off watching people, but this time somehow I could not keep my eyes off Meg and Tim because their marriage reminded me so much of my late parents marriage, the way they acted towards each other and the way they looked at each other.

Seeing Meg and Tim together, anyone would know they were a solid couple, whom you could learn from and that’s what I wanted. I wanted to learn and knowing how to make a marriage survive was what I was looking for. What steps could I take to lead my marriage in the right direction, was one of the questions I was wanting to ask, and I did, and she answered in the most gracious way.

Meg Britton is the most gracious woman I have ever met in my entire life. The way she walks is shown in her smile, her voice is of warmth and care, and her spiritual guidance is of the utmost importance to me. “The foundation of love is found in Christ Jesus,” she tells me, and her long-term marriage to Tim is the value I have chosen to follow. When my former spouse left me while I was on Active Duty Army, Mama Meg came and got me as I was alone in sorrow in an empty apartment in the west part of Colorado Springs, and she brought me up to her beautiful home in the mountains of Crystal Park in Manitou Springs, Colorado, as I cried and grieved with unbelievable hurt, Mama Meg was there for me. She took me with all this pain and helped me find Christ and found him I did. Some people deal with pain and suffering in many ways, some positive and some negative, but overall the pain is theirs. Mama Meg, helped me to work towards embracing the pain while moving towards God in the process of pain and grief. I was a lonely Army soldier for a long time and I did not have anyone in my life from my unit at Fort Carson Army Base to my family on the east coast walking with me. There was only Mama Meg, along with her husband Tim. Both would talk to me from their home while I sat in my barracks late at night, encouraging me and praying for me. They were my heroes in my life, working together to help save a soul which was me. Read more at http://travisangry.com/2018/07/mama_meg/

Many people have ask, when will I begin speaking to the Youth again? Is the Change Youth Conference & Expo still in the plans? The Answer is Yes! I have one more last hurdle to clear, this Friday I will undergo a Pet Scan to determiner if I’m still Cancer Free after a very successful Stem Cell Transplant at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center! Once I get those results and speak with my Doctors and Nurses, I’ll be making a Major Announcement for the future plans for the Change Youth Project! Stay Tuned!
