We did some quick changes in the studio over the last week. Between baseball and drama practice, chaperoning and volunteering for my kids, and teaching and photoshoots, birthday celebrations, meetings, power outages and more… We rearranged the front room and painted some of the walls to give ourselves another space we can photograph in. Just in time to use it yesterday. Now we’re slowly getting photos back on the walls and looking forward to experimenting with this new arrangement.

I was hoping to come here to post a hope filled update, but sadly that is not that case tonight.
Over the last year I have had the honor of photographing young Memphis twice for Goodrich Middle School cheerleading. Her smile was infectious. Even though my time with the team was brief I’d remember that smile anywhere. My heart broke when I saw that beautiful smile come across my feed, learning she was the critically injured in an awful accident in Grand Blanc.
This evening I was going to share this link to help support her through the turmoil of healing from such a tragedy.
Unfortunately, today, at only 12 years old, she succumbed to her injuries, gaining a new pair of wings and leaving a hole in our community.

May the stories we tell of Memphis be memories of joy and remind us how precious each day is.

Friday, May 8 is for a small workshop I'm leading on outdoor lighting. Need models approximately 3-5pm and 7-9pm in Goodrich.
Thursday, May 28 is for an open studio night where local photographers will work to build their portfolio, experiment with new techniques and have fun in a social environment at the Goodrich studio.
In both cases, completed images will be provided to the models.
We encourage creative freedom and collaboration. For example, if there is an outfit you want to show off, or a background we want to use, we will collaborate to make an interesting experience.
