We are excited to share a fun performance opportunity with you!

In partnership with the Goochland County Circuit Court 200th Anniversary Event, Goochland Community Theatre seeks 5 actors ages 9-18 to perform an original play inspired by the event.

The event date is September 19th, 2026, with admission beginning at 10:00am. The performance will be at 10:30 am.

We will host 3 rehearsals the week of the performance: the evenings of Monday Sept. 14th, Wednesday Sept. 16th, and Friday Sept. 18th, held at the Central High Cultural and Educational Complex.

No auditions necessary!

We’re looking for an Aunt Bella to join our cast of Lost in Yonkers!

All age ranges are encouraged to apply.

Bella Kurnitz is a loving, eccentric aunt who desires a life of her own.

Lost in Yonkers is GCT’s 2026-27 season opener, to be presented at Central High School Cultural and Educational Center from October 23rd to 25th, 2026. Directed by Luke Freisner.

By America's great comic playwright, this memory play is set in Yonkers in 1942. Bella is 35 years old, mentally challenged, and living at home with her mother, stern Grandma Kurnitz. As the play opens, ne'er-do-well son Eddie deposits his two young sons on the old lady's doorstep. He is financially strapped and taking to the road as a salesman. The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers. - Concord Theatricals

Performers can expect a 3 day per week rehearsal schedule.

Join us for our upcoming stage management workshop: How to Stage Manage! Presented by Crimson Piazza and Goochland Community Theatre.

What is a stage manager? A stage manager supports a production by being the director’s right hand person throughout the rehearsal process and performances.

This workshop is a crash course into stage managing, providing the fundamentals to get started in your local community theatre. Attendees will also participate in example scenarios, putting learned skills into practice.

This workshop is for all who are interested in stage management, assistant stage management, backstage crew, or anyone who just wants to volunteer.

And if after the workshop you’d like to work backstage on one of GCT’s upcoming shows, we always welcome new volunteers to help us during our season!
