Step into the world of Future Fossils, a solo exhibition by our Studio Technician, Austin McCormick.
“Future Fossils” are speculative excavations of cultural remnants that critique our current material consumption, industrialization, and the climate crisis. This immersive sculptural environment invites viewers into a shared space of curiosity, prompting a vital question: will what we leave behind reveal an era of conflict, or one of mutation and hybridity?
Austin McCormick is a multi-disciplinary artist from the Southern California mountains, working primarily in Los Angeles. Having been raised both on construction sites and in a ballet school, Austin has been influenced by process, craftsmanship, music, and movement. After graduating as valedictorian from Art Center College of Design, Austin started his career as an artist, fabricator, and illustrator. His work ranges from abstraction to representational, and functional to decorative.
