Soon, I will be consumed. By Them, by the Dark.
This client originally came in to just get Artorias’s grave. however I felt that we needed to give this fallen soul the much needed respect he deserves. I was a huge fan of putting the swords that surround his grave in negative space, while allowing just a bit of color from the ivy and his tarnished heroic blue cloak to show through.
The story of Artorias the Abysswalker from Dark Souls, is the perfect example of beware when fighting with monsters, for you may just become one. His once bright blue cloak now tarnished and soiled, A heroic knight who fought the abyss until it eventually broke him. Making him no more than a shadowy monster of his former glory. Fromsoftware are experts at creating captivating dark storylines that draw players in and make a feeling so memorable, that they have no choice but to get it permanently marked into the skin. I love tattooing these kinds of designs and when given the chance to go above and beyond I will take it.
