Golden Music and Theater Alumni Association: Golden, Colorado

Golden Music and Theater Alumni Association: Golden, Colorado Members are encouraged to join as long as they participated for a minimum of a full semester, even if they did not graduate from Golden High School.

The Golden Music and Theater Alumni Association is meant to create a place from which to celebrate the history and explore the future of Golden music and theater as a continually growing community, tied together by a common past. An organization for all those who formerly participated in or assisted with Instrumental Music (Marching Band, Symphonic/Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Guitar Cl

ass), Choral Music (Concert Choir, Mixed Choir,Centennial Singers, Madrigals, Mountain Magic, 24th Street Singers, Advanced Women's Choir or any of the small groups like Tone Deaf's, Brothers Five, or Demon Jazz) or Theater at Golden High School in Golden Colorado. The group works to reconnect old friends and support the current instrumental music program at Golden High School.

Grateful the situation at Golden was safely resolved.

RESOLUTION OF INCIDENT AT GOLDEN HIGH SCHOOL: At approximately 8:15 a.m. today, Golden Police Department officers responded to Golden High School following a Safe2Tell report indicating a student "holding what looks like a firearm in cafeteria."

Upon investigation, officers located the student in class and determined the reported weapon was actually a cardboard prop gun that was briefly shown to a fellow classmate and not used to threaten other students. The school was placed on lockdown while officers conducted multiple protective sweeps throughout the building to ensure safety.

All students were eventually evacuated and have been released from school for the day. No criminal charges will be filed regarding this incident. School administrators are handling the matter according to district policies.

Parents and guardians should keep an eye on communications from Golden High School for detailed information about resuming normal school operations and any potential follow-up actions.
