I’ve been keeping a little secret… 🇺🇸🎨

When I created America 250, I knew this painting was special to me—but you never really know how your work will be received when you put it in front of someone else to judge.

So I submitted it.

And then I waited.

And this week, I opened an email that started with one word every artist hopes to see…

“Congratulations!” ❤️

America 250 was selected to be part of the HeART of America juried exhibition at Yavapai College! 🇺🇸

Seeing a piece that represents so much of what inspires my work—faith, freedom and country—chosen for this exhibition is a pretty incredible feeling.

But there’s still another chapter to this story. 👀

The exhibition includes judged awards and cash prizes, and those winners haven’t been announced yet.

So now…we wait. 😬😂

Regardless of what happens next, today I’m celebrating the fact that America 250 MADE THE SHOW. 🇺🇸🎨

Some voices entertain us.

Some remind us what matters. ❤️

There’s something about Dolly Parton — her faith, her kindness, her humility, and the way she has never been afraid to talk about God — that has always made her feel like more than just an entertainer.

So today, I’m letting the paintbrush do the talking. 🎨✝️

Well… apparently painting it wasn’t enough. 😂

A few days ago I asked the internet what kind of license plate Jesus should have on the Mustang in my painting.

I was NOT prepared for the response. 😂 Thousands of views and hundreds of suggestions later, I finally chose:

HEAVEN ✨
WWIDO — What Would I Do?

I painted it onto the car, finished the painting and thought that was the end of it…

Apparently not. 😂

I MADE THE ACTUAL LICENSE PLATE.

And now I need to know…

IT’S DONE! 🇺🇸✝️🎨

What started as a painting of Jesus driving a classic Mustang somehow turned into thousands of people having VERY strong opinions about His license plate. 😂

I read through your suggestions—and there were some seriously good ones—but I finally made my choice:

And now the entire painting is officially finished.

Thank you to everyone who commented, gave me ideas, laughed along with me, and followed this painting from start to finish. ❤️

Now that this one is done, I have just one question…

Well… I probably shouldn’t have let the internet help with this. 😂

I asked one simple question:

“If Jesus had a custom license plate, what would it say?”

45,000+ views and 200+ comments later… you guys had some AMAZING answers. And a few that definitely did NOT make the short list. 😂

But I finally picked one.

A little twist on WWJD… because this time, Jesus is the one behind the wheel. 😂👍

Thank you to everyone who played along and helped me finish this little piece of the painting. This was WAY more fun than I expected.

I need the internet to make a decision for me. 😂

My reference photo has a California license plate, but when I got to that part of the painting I thought…

Nah. Jesus needs a custom plate. 😂

So I left it blank.
