Jam sessions are a great way to explore new improvisation skills and gather as a community. This space is open to all, whether you’re a seasoned improviser or new to the practice.

For the last few jams we’ve had guest teachers lead our warmup, offering a chance to learn something new before we dive into the jam. This month, our warmup will be led by Christopher Ellinger!

Cape Ann Contra Dance is back this weekend 9/19 • 6-9PM !

Join us for easy-to-learn New England Style Contra, Square & Circle Dances with Caller Rose Sheehan and live music. This session will also include a *NEW* Family Dance Hour from 6:00–7:00 PM!

Geared towards ages 4–10 and their families this hour is designed as a welcoming launchpad for the main event giving young dancers a chance to burn off energy, learn the core figures, and build confidence with accessible instruction.

We encourage families to stay for the regular dance that follows! Children can put their new skills into practice during the early sets, dance in tandem with a parent, or simply relax and enjoy the live music.

GUIDELINES:
Children’s readiness to manage dance structure varies, so we rely on parental judgement rather than fixed age limits To keep our events enjoyable and safe for everyone, we've set basic safety guidelines when children are not on the dance floor:

- Keep the floor clear during sets - no running or playing between the lines while a dance is in progress.
- Supervise off-floor play - in designated non-dancing areas away from the dance floor.

See you on the dance floor!

SEPTEMBER CONTACT IMPROV JAM

A bit of a shorter version of our jam this month but it will still be a blast ~ AND ~ we hope you'll stick around for our monthly moving meditation practice:
The Crystal • 4PM - 6PM

The Crystal is a contemplative dance practice using Authentic Movement, in which the mover becomes the oracle and the witnesses reflect and refract using silence, sound, movement and automatic writing. A profound experience of vulnerability, intimacy and connection.
