Mixed Media: Draw, Paint, Collage with Maria Malatesta

Come experiment, play, and create artwork to express your ideas! In this two-day workshop, led by local artist Maria Malatesta, you will begin drawing from observation and move into the addition of paint and collage.

‘Play as Practice’ is a five-artist exhibition which explores the relationship between formal work and studio play.

Curated by Mallie Loring Pratt and Hanna Taylor Marino, the show brings together works by Pratt, Marino, Isabel Bacon, Margaret Sweet, and Julia Von Metzsch, five painters whose studio practices each walk the line between abstraction and representation.

Join us for an evening of stories and songs with celebrated North Shore musicians Dan King and Dave Mattacks at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck.

‘Rhythm and Rhyme’ is a juried exhibition showcasing work inspired by music or musical lyrics. The structural pattern of music, including melody, harmony, tempo and texture, has long been a muse for the visual arts. A song’s lyric quality may also evoke powerful imagery and stir the imagination.

The works by 24 artists in this exhibit represent the full range of musical inspiration, from highly literal responses to deeply emotional.

What a fantastic afternoon! Thanks to all who joined us yesterday to celebrate the opening of Rocky Neck Art Colony’s new exhibition, Rhythm and Rhyme.

The works of 24 artists featured in this exhibit represent the full range of musical inspiration, from highly literal responses to deeply emotional.

The exhibition is on display through June 28 at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck.
