October 12, 2021 Pumpkin Brew Review: Deep River’s ‘Pumpkin Pie Porter’. Clayton, NC. ABV: 5.9% …. SCORE: 2/5 SpoOoky Pumpkins 🎃🎃. This one brought about mixed feelings…one of us couldn’t stand it…the other could drink it casually. We have the impression that the brewery tried to do too much with this recipe and ended up falling a bit flat. The porter is probably the strongest part of this beer, but hey, we’re mixed over here. Judge for yourself.

This is an incredibly chill pumpkin beer but it’s so low key that it almost seems a little watered down. The search continues for that gold medal pumpkin beer!

This tasty stout has a strong chocolate flavor with a dash of cinnamon at the end. Very rich and drinkable. Reminiscent of chocolate Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

ABV: 8.5%…SCORE: 4.75/5 Spooky Pumpkins 🎃🎃🎃 Brewed with a saison yeast, sugar pumpkins, nutmeg, clove, and and allspice, this tasty brew fulfilled our wildest hopes for one of our favorite breweries. All the local ingredients used in this fine saison really shine throughout. High quality in every step. We cannot recommend this enough, just knock em down nice and slow and beware…that ABV is sneaky!

October 4, 2021 Pumpkin Brew Review: Captain Lawrence Brewing Company’s ‘Autumn Blaze’, Elmsford, NY. ABV: 5.0…SCORE: 2/5 Spooky Pumpkins 🎃. Let us begin by saying that this beer smells deliciously pumpkin-y. Upon tasting we were immediately disappointed. The initial bite is sharp and metallic, and unfortunately, this beer ends there. The killer jackolanterns and artwork present on the can is a trap. We’re still searching for traces of pumpkin…but it looks like we better go to the local patch.
