Suzanne just got her new Baby Baritone Resonator and in her own words, “I love it already”. The Mya-Moe Baby Baritone has an 18 5/8” scale (shorter than the standard 20” baritone and longer than the standard 17” tenor). With a custom set of Baby Baritone strings, this resonator works well in DGBE tuning as well as Open G tuning.

New Ukulele Alert! Baby Baritone Resonator just made available on the Mya-Moe website.

“What is a Baby Baritone?” you ask. Its scale length of 18 5/8” is longer than the standard 17” tenor and shorter than the 20” baritone. Strung up with a custom set of strings to optimize this scale length in a standard baritone tuning or an Open D tuning. You can also use a different set of custom strings to convert this ukulele into a Tenor Long Neck. It’s like having 2 instruments in one!

I’m loving the feel of the mesquite fretboards and also love the subtle contrast of the fretboard and bridge with the curly koa. Makes me want to grab my fly rod and do some casting. Jim’s new tenor featuring inlay by Craig Lavin. This tenor also showcases some master grade koa along with slotted headstock and a cutaway.

First coat of TruOil on a curly koa soprano. This little guy may come with me to the JAM-Boree at Gent’s if it’s still available in April.
