The Wood Theater is a 30,000 square foot community facility that resulted from the dramatic rehabilitationof a vacant Woolworth Store on Glen Street in the heart of downtown Glens Falls. The facility includes:

• A 300-seat theater, which is fully ADA compliant, and includes state-of-the-art lightingand sound packages. Suited for theater, dance, music, film and presentations

• A 3,000 square foot

rehearsal hall with natural light, changing rooms and separate lobby. This room is also available for receptions, meetings and workshops.

• Over 2,600 square feet of lobby space including a box office, concession area andample room for large receptions.

We couldn't think of a more perfect day to announce the first of our 2026 Community Awards! Congratulations to our second ever Visionary of the Year - Ben Rowley!

Tonight, Ben's original musical Solstice makes its premiere on our Main Stage after selling out a staged reading in our Cabaret in 2023. We are deeply honored to be host of this new work through its life cycle and to have witnessed the work and Ben grow together within our four walls.

In addition to having written the Solstice Book and Score, Ben serves as Music Director at St. Mary's Church, Artistic Director of the Arts Academy at St. Mary's, Guest Artist at Theatre for Tots, Music Director, Conductor and Pit Musician for several local organizations including Broadway Upstate.

Ben is not only immensely talented and creative - he is making his mark on the local arts scene, advocating for and lifting up other artists along the way.

Each time Ben steps through the Wood Theater doors, its with an infectious energy of warmth and collaboration that we are so grateful for.

We are proud to call Ben a friend of the Wood and to present him with this award at our 'The Greatest Show (in Glens Falls)' Gala on Friday July 24th at The Queensbury Hotel.

THIS FALL: ART POP.

This year's Fall Cabaret ART POP is curating an unforgettable mixed media mashup of audio and visual art.

Performers and audiences alike will be immersed in an on-stage and lobby gallery, complimenting the vocal talents of local performers.

Tickets and a Call for Artists will be announced SOON and Audition Sign-Ups are open NOW at woodtheater.org/audition ✨

What do we want to hear? Think Ben Platt's cover of Addison Rae's Diet Pepsi or Owl City's cover of Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hansen. Literally any Glee cover. Fresh takes on theater classics and musical theater flavor on current pop hits.

Not sure what to sing at auditions to fit the theme but still want to join us? Don't worry about getting too creative, we can help find an arrangement that fits your voice for the show.

Auditions are open to performers ages 14 and up. Please come prepared with two contrasting songs you feel best show off your vocal abilities. You must provide your own sheet music or lead sheet for piano accompaniment.

As of May 3rd, our full-time team is 9 years old! 2026 marks 9 years for Shelley, Emily and Eric - all starting within a few months of each other back in early 2017.

The Wood Theater and our community are so lucky to have the passion, determination, creativity and hard work of this small but mighty team running the show!
