Our next recipient to introduce you to is Grace Castillo! During her high school career, She showed with her local 4-H club, She was also a member of Hollister FFA and took many AG classes. She’s finished high school with a 3.7 GPA and will be attending Cuesta College in the fall. She will be studying agriculture business with plans of transferring to Cal Poly University.

Our next recipient is Briana Colunga, graduated from Independence High School. She will be attending Bakersfield College to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also completed the Intro to Health Program through Career Technical Educational Center and will receive her certificate. Brianna has been involved with 4-H since she was five years old. She is a member of the California High School Rodeo Association (D9), California Junior Cowboys Association and Kern River Rodeo Association, where she competes in barrel racing, pole bending, goats and breakaway.

Our next recipient is Mallory Filkins from Bakersfield Christian High School! Mallory has participated in Basketball, Volleyball, and have been apart of both NHS and CSF throughout High School. Let’s meet our 2021 recipients! Our first honoree we’ll introduce you to is Darcie Shugart! Graduating from North High School with an impressive resume and will be attending Cal Poly SLO with a major in History! Darcie is involved in the Interact Club, Got the Dot Club, CSF, the Spanish Honors Society, and FFA. Outside of school she has been involved in community theater and Ford Dream Builders. This year, Darcie will be receiving the 23rd District Congressional Merit Award! Congratulations to Darcie on all her accomplishments this year!
