The last decade has seen a slew of rebellions, from the Arab Spring to Ukraine to Armenia, some through peaceful means, and some marked by violence. Art and artists have always had a role in society in acting as catalysts to subvert authority, challenge the status quo, and to instigate change. Artists serve as mirrors to the world, promoting reflection and thought and, in so doing, oftentimes portray a world of what could be, predating society's changes.
