Stuff like this rarely happens, but when it does, I think it’s important to explain what happened and why—especially for educational purposes. 💖

At the beginning of the piercing, the skin started to roll inward instead of allowing the needle to pass through smoothly. The tip of the needle had barely entered the skin, so I was able to readjust and stabilize the tissue, and then safely continue with the piercing.

I always see comments saying I should pierce “faster,” but this is a perfect example of why control is more important than speed. Imagine if I had tried to force the needle through quickly—it could’ve caused unnecessary trauma or resulted in a poorly placed piercing.

Piercing isn’t about how fast you can push a needle through someone. It’s about staying in control, paying attention to how the tissue responds, and knowing when to stop and readjust. ✨

Things don’t always go perfectly, even with experience. What matters is recognizing what’s happening and knowing how to safely correct it. 💖

So I’ve been pretty quiet and off social media lately because of everything going on with my niece. She was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease and MIS-C, and right now, things aren’t looking as good as we had hoped. 💔

She has developed multiple aneurysms in her heart, including one that is considered a giant aneurysm. Starting today, they’re putting her on anticoagulant injections. If there isn’t improvement within the next week, they may have to attempt a stent. If a stent is considered too risky or isn’t an option, we’ve been told the next step is a heart transplant. 💔

I don’t even know how to put into words what I’m feeling. She is barely 4 years old. She’s just a baby. 😔 You see stories on social media all the time about someone’s child becoming incredibly sick, being diagnosed with cancer, or a family suddenly having their entire world turned upside down. You feel for them, but you never truly imagine something this severe happening so close to home until it does.

I’ve been heartbroken, devastated, scared, and carrying so much guilt wondering if there was something I could have done differently. Thankfully, her doctors have continued to reassure me that this is not my fault. I brought her in after only a few days of having a fever, and unfortunately, she is one of those very rare cases where her body just isn’t responding to the medications the way they had hoped.

So right now, all I’m asking is that you please keep my sweet niece Genesis in your prayers. 🤍 Please pray that her little heart begins to heal, that these treatments work, and that she can get through this without needing a transplant 🙏🏼 I just want her back home healthy, happy & herself again 😔

PART 2: DELILAH GETTING HER EARS PIERCED ✨🥹

I made sure to explain to Delilah that it would hurt a little and feel like a quick pinch. 💖 I also want to make it clear that I did not force either of my nieces to get their ears pierced—they’ve both been asking for them and were so excited for their turn. ✨

Even though Delilah wasn’t too happy during the actual piercing (which is completely understandable—she’s only 2 🥹), she did such an amazing job! She stayed in her chair, was so brave, and didn’t try to run away like some little ones do. 😅👏🏼

Now it’s time for some happy healing! 💕 Once they’re all healed up, I’ll be treating both of them to some adorable little gold hoops. 💅

So proud of my sweet nieces! They were both little rockstars. 🥹💖
