Most of you know me, and know my love of photography through my professional page: ShotsByKayleigh. Although it makes me a little sad to post this, there are a few things coming in the near future that will leave your feed absent of my work for a short amount of time.
I have so many people who believe in me and my work. People who have pushed me, motivated me, taught me, and people who believed so much in my work, that they became paying customers. And as with all things, I've learned to take the good with the bad. People criticize. People take advantage. People steal and can be dishonest. Some even find delight in the defeat of others. I've learned these things the hard way. And that's part of my need to take a step back.
My love of photography started in Jacksonville, Florida where I was successful and grew so much. I sold my first pictures, won awards, publicly put my work and myself out there for the world to see. And if you've never done that before, talk about humbling.
My last few months in Florida were rough, but thanks to photography, I survived and thrived and ultimately found so much joy in it. I’m now located in Phoenix, Arizona. There’s so much competition here. It's a whole different world. I attend a school where I can no longer take classes for digital photography. I don't know many people here, but I've done my best to promote my work, so that I can continue my passion. I won't lie; it's been so challenging that I'm at the point where it feels like it's just not working.
Thankfully, I still have friends and family in Florida who request my services- and I appreciate them so much! Wedding announcements and other invitations! I love it❤️.
That said, as of June 2018, and possibly the rest of summer, I will be taking a small break. I hope that you all understand and know how much I appreciate your continued support. I want to take time to focus on my photography, brainstorm some new ideas, set up a website, think of creative ways to promote myself and most importantly, focus on me and what makes me love this art and excel at it.
I cannot wait to come back in the fall and share with you all the amazing progress I have made and share with you my new and improved vision.
Have a wonderful summer everyone!
