Our successful Brand 54 Works on Paper Exhibition closes this week. With budget cuts closing Brand Library and Art Center on Fridays, now, August 27 is the final day you can see these marvelous artworks in person.

Our thanks, again, to juror Tracy Bartley, and to all the artists who entered, who were selected, and who were given awards. Entry fees and sales of artworks greatly benefit our organization.

You still may purchase a Brand 54 catalog, which documents each artist and work in the show, at our web site, AssociatesOfBrand.org, or at the checkout desk at Brand.

To support programs like Brand 54 (and the Summer Concert Series, the latest season of which also ends this week, on Friday night) please consider making a donation to Brand Associates, or becoming a member.

‘Brand 54’ juror Tracy Bartley, whose years of experience in contemporary fine art can be seen in her exciting gallery choices, offers insight into her selection process.

In fact, tomorrow night you could attend ARTful Conversations, the program we present that uses art from Brand exhibits as a portal for writing poetry — led by Tina Demirdjian, Glendale’s new Poet Laureate, and art historian Valerie Taylor, both Brand Associates board members.

PLEASE JOIN US! The Associates of Brand Library & Art Center is holding its 2026 Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, August 8, 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Brand Recital Hall at Brand Library & Art Center. The timing couldn't be better, as we welcome anyone concerned about the recent reductions to the Brand Library budget. 😠

The Associates will continue financial support of programming and serve as advocates to City Council. BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Light refreshments to be provided. The meeting will conclude with a tour of Brand 54: Works on Paper with Board member Valerie Taylor.

So very proud of our very own Brand Associates Board Member Tina Demirdjian, who is Glendale's next Poet Laureate! 🤩

Alongside Board Member Valerie Taylor, Tina also co-created ARTful Conversations at Brand Gallery to bridge community members with writing poetry using art in the exhibits as inspiration. Congrats, Tina!
