The study basically found that viewing original art in a gallery reduces bodily stress and inflammation. The research indicates that viewing art activates immune, endocrine, and autonomic systems, offering universal physical health benefits.

Isn’t this wonderful, does it mean I can go to art galleries for my health instead of exercising? 😆
Okay I guess not but it does give me more of a reason to surround myself with more art!

Did you know you could take a photo with a camera? 📷

I’ve used the Victorian photography process called Cyanotype to create these beautiful flower prints in Prussian Blue 💙

Cyanotype uses a light sensitive solution of Iron salts, sunlight and water.
Paper is coated and dried, the flowers are placed onto the paper and then outside in the sun (this is the equivalent of a camera taking a photo) and then it’s rinsed in water. 💦

It takes up to 24 hours for the deep blue to develop.

Pretty much sums up how I feel.

1. Find beautiful things in nature (mainly but not exclusive to flowers)
2. Make they blue (Cyanotype)
3. Feel calmer and happier too

But actually even just number 1 will work too! What about you? What do you do that makes you calmer?

These are not my words, but they could be.

I will always be that person who is trailing behind the group because something has caught my eye and I won’t apologise for that.

My camera roll may contain 25 images of the same single flower but what’s wrong with that. I am just always on the lookout for beauty and once you start looking you realise that’s it’s infinite ✨
Although, admittedly, I am in a very beautiful place right now and it’s so much easier to have this attitude. But even back in London I can nearly always find beauty when I set out to look for it.

Did I ever tell you that I grew up on the most beautiful place on earth?
I’ve come home this Summer, so here’s a little of life lately

1. Gold Leaf playing a strong part in my life right now. So much so that I will be having a small collection release in September!

2. Me at home in the forest, the path outside our place.

3. The Moon stayed up to see the day. The sky here is something else. I often miss really big skies, do you ever have that feeling, just to be under a really big sky?

4. Making bracelets with the girls 😆

5. They love it here too.

6. My Cyanotype nemesis! Best attempt of three after an hour exposure. I will try again although I’m not sure it’s worth it!
