I started my long journey in 1998, when i was taping and editing on Analog systems such as S-VHS, 3/4 and Betacam tapes. Using Linear editing switchers and complicating RS422 synchronization connections to edit in Assemble and Insert modes. Thanks to my father, i taught myself how to overcome all problems and issues by spending countless hours reading manuals for high end professional cameras and
editing systems. Long days and sleepless nights were spent searching, reading and learning technical terms, trials and errors would complete various productions, learning a new language and as i tried to understand new techniques and ways to edit to meet meet deadlines. And all this at the age of 14. While most of my friends were playing video games and hanging around, i was forming and structuring a long and fruitful skill for my later years to come as an adult. At such a young age, i already had so much experience under my belt working with so many different types of people. From actors to directors, from fashion designers to sculptures, from television professionals to famous artists. All these interactions taught me so much, some literally and some morally. As time went on, technology changed and yet another barrier had come upon me. It was the beginning of Computer Based NLE systems. First sitting in front of Adobe Premiere 2.0 and being baffled at how this works and where to start. Once again i opened up the books and manuals and watched tutorials and continued on to better skills and to stay up to date with the ever change field of media. Eventually as i was getting better and feeling more comfortable with what i did, i started to expand and apply my acquired knowledge to photography and directing and other aspects of production. I attended CSUN and got my BA degree in Television production. Today, continuing what my father started 15 years ago, i continue to strive everyday to improve and better my photography techniques, from lighting to angels to unique ways of capturing everyday moments. Applying what i have learned all these years to produce professional videos and quality work. to always stay ahead and learn and accomplish what any production demands from me. I’d like to end with one of my favorite quotes, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I do what i do because i love doing it, not because i need to or i have to, but simply because it brings me genuine satisfaction!
