Hey everyone, Cohyn here. I've been receiving a LOT of messages from vendors, bands, and fans over the last few months in regards to doing the festival this year. I figured now would be a good time to make the "official" announcement.
We have decided to skip 2025, and bring Rock in the Ruins back in 2026.
Long story short, there have been a lot of very big life changes happening all at once, and I'm both physically and mentally unable to add "organize a big music festival" to my plate until things settle down a bit.
While this may be upsetting to some, rest assured we will be getting together to begin planning the next one when our schedules allow it. We've got plenty of time to work out the kinks, get budget stuff figured out, and make Ruins 3 the biggest one yet.
We have TIME.
Any and all constructive criticism is welcome in the comments below; we want to hear from YOU on how we can improve the event with the location we've chosen.
WE WILL BE BACK IN 2026.
So what's next?
I've gathered enough footage from the first two years to make a pretty serious documentary about the festival, along with a CD of bootleg live recordings (with the consent of the bands, of course.)
Expect that later this year.
We're also hoping to do a few smaller events in the same vein, probably closer to the Halloween season. We would like some vendors to be a part of them; more details on that later.
To everyone who has been a vendor or sponsor in the first two festivals, we can not thank you enough. We couldn't have funded the event without your contributions.
To the bands that have performed at our events, thank you for bringing in the crowds and making enough noise that the entire small town of Glen Rock could hear us.
To the folks who own and operate Ruins Hall , thank you for giving us a place to hold the most epic festivals the central PA underground alt/punk/metal/horror scene has ever had.
And of course a huge thanks to everyone who has attended, been part of our skeleton crew, and given our small operation a chance to do what we love.
Be sure to follow this page for updates on Ruins 3, smaller events, and content from the first two festivals. I will do my best to maintain it, but I am VERY tired.
Cheers, and long live the horror π€π€
