⭐️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO DR. SOKOLOFF! ⭐️
DEI would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to Dr. Alan “Dr. Sok” Sokoloff for being so gracious with his time and sharing his knowledge, experience, and perspective as both a longtime “dance dad” and chiropractor with our Competition Team!
Our dancers and parents had the opportunity to learn about so many important aspects of being a competitive athlete, including proper stretching, injury prevention, what to do when an injury occurs, nutrition, recovery, and overall health and well-being. We want our dancers to understand that becoming stronger athletes isn't only about what happens in the dance studio—it's also about learning how to properly take care of their bodies. 🩵
And we truly couldn't have asked for someone better to share that message!
Dr. Sok is the founder of the Yalich Clinic of Glen Burnie and has an incredible background in sports medicine. He has served as the Baltimore Ravens Team Chiropractor since 1999 and Team Chiropractor for the University of Maryland since 2004, in addition to working with the Baltimore Orioles and numerous professional, collegiate and Olympic-level athletes throughout his career. He’s also treated many of our DEI alumni and teachers over the years ☺️
Having someone with that level of experience take the time to speak directly to our DEI dancers and families was such a special opportunity, and we are incredibly grateful. I know our parents, dancers and everyone at DEI are thrilled to have had this experience! 🩵
