Here is a clip from our 2024 trip to the Philippines, where Tuhon Apolo Ladra shared a story with our group about his teacher, Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje. May his legacy continue to live on through all those he taught and inspired. 🙏🏽❤️

This past weekend at iKALI HQ we not only celebrated Tuhon Apolo Ladra's 60th Birthday, but recognized the hard work his students have done to be awarded their instructor promotion ranks.

The physical work is easy. Years of sweat and dedication toward a common goal. The sacrifice of time and mental stress to stay the course when life happens is why emotions flowed upon receiving their prestigious ranks/titles.

We Honor Tuhon Apolo and the work he has passionately put in by accepting his endorsements.

Our responsibility is to plant and harvest the teachings trusted upon us.

Throughout the weekend, everyone came to understand the Filipino Concept of Bayanihan - our upliftment of community.

It is our hope all will return back and spread this to their areas of the globe.

This is our commitment.

This is our privilege.

This is iKALI

Today, we honor a man whose name carries both strength and respect— Tuhon

At 60 years young, you stand not only as a master of your craft, but as a living example of what true excellence looks like.

You embody the precision and discipline of a champion, forged through years of dedication and unwavering commitment. Yet beyond skill, it is your heart that defines you—a devoted father whose love is steady, guiding, and deeply felt.

To those of us fortunate enough to stand beside you, you are more than a leader. You are a brother in spirit and a friend in truth—loyal, steadfast, and present in both triumph and challenge.

Your leadership is not commanded; it is earned—through humility, integrity, and the quiet strength that inspires others to rise.

On this milestone, we celebrate not just your years, but your legacy—one built on Honor, Courage, and an enduring Commitment to those you lead and love ❤️
