Snare Drum Splash Effect

The splash cymbal is held by Moongel on this Crush Sublime E3 Maple 7x13” snare drum, which holds it just enough so that it can still move in it's place. The crash is the Small Bell Raw Crash.

Cross Stick Technique 🎶

There are some cool ways to approach playing with the cross stick. Try changing the distance the stick rests from the rim for different sounds, flam off the high tom, use your fingers to play grace notes.

ZilCo Constantinople 13” Crash Cymbal

Have you ever come across a vintage ZilCo cymbal?

Zildjian ZilCo cymbals were a line of cymbals produced by the Avedis Zildjian Company in the United States, primarily from the 1930s to the 1960s. They were considered a more affordable alternative to the company’s higher-end Zildjian A and K series cymbals.

ZilCo cymbals typically have a stamped “Zilco” logo, sometimes accompanied by the Zildjian script logo. However, some earlier models might only have the Zildjian script logo without explicit mention of “Zilco”.

Vintage ZilCo cymbals are considered collectibles by some drummers, especially those interested in the history of Zildjian cymbals.

Do you lubricate your tension rods?

Lubricating your tension rods can make tuning easier, and extend the life of your rods. These are parts that move often and should move smoothly. Every time you take the heads off take a minute to whipe off any dirt and l**e the rods as needed.

My favorite product to use has been White Lithium Grease.

Drum hardware Tip

A simple way to shorten the length of your hardware is by using a pipe cutter. Nothing magical here, but know it is an option! There’s only been a few times I’ve needed to do this, but if you find the need it’s a super easy thing to do. I recommend sanding the edges after!
