Want to transform your acoustic kit without replacing your drums?

For this setup, I’m using Black Hole heads with triggers and real cymbals to create a hybrid drum setup—giving me the flexibility of electronic sounds while still playing an acoustic kit.

And one detail I really like: the rubber rim lets you work on rim shots without the big volume increase you’d get from a traditional acoustic setup.

The mesh heads are durable, tunable, and adjustable to your preferred tension, making them useful for everything from quiet practice to hybrid performance setups.

A great combination for building control and consistency!

This exercise puts Swiss Army triplets and flam taps together to challenge your hands and help develop cleaner transitions between different sticking patterns.

I’m working through it on the Moongel Workout Practice Pad and metronome to keep me honest!

Try it slow first, focus on clean ex*****on, then gradually bring up the tempo.

Meinl Surdo Drum 🥁

The surdo is one of the foundational drums of Brazilian samba and provides the deep, powerful pulse that drives the bateria. It produces the deep bass tones that help establish the groove and keep the entire ensemble connected.

I've used this drum to create low bass tones for recordings, as a deep floor tom, or as a unique kick drum.
