We are proud of you, Prof! 💛
We're honored to share the first recipient of our inaugural Emerging Educator award, Kayla Bowe.
Despite beginning her career as an educator just three years ago, Kayla’s already making huge strides to better her community through education. Kayla utilizes her degrees — BA, Theatre ’22 & MST, Education — for good.
As Overbrook High School’s Theatre and Public Speaking Teacher, she combines artistic leadership and
community-minded service. Most notably, Kayla received Montclair Theatre Night’s Outstanding Achievement in Educational Impact & Community Outreach Award for designing and directing ‘Charlotte’s Web,’ in which her cast performed preview shows for elementary schools within the district. This initiative introduced hundreds of students to live theatre for the first time.
It’s for these reasons and many more that the College of Education proudly presents the 2026 Emerging Educator Award to Kayla.
Please join us in congratulating Kayla, and help us honor her dedication to education at our annual Celebration Breakfast — Saturday, March 14, at 9 a.m. | Eynon Ballroom, Chamberlain Student Center. Connect with alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters over breakfast, as well as enjoy remarks from University leadership.
