FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: August 28, 2014
Sustainable Glasgow, Inc. is announcing plans for its fourth annual post-Thanksgiving music event, The Woodstock Tribute, Sustainable Glasgow Style. This year’s event will, again, feature local musical artists and performers doing their interpretations of music featured in the original Woodstock Music Festival in August, 1969. At the same time, Sustainable Glasgow, Inc. is announcing that AT&T has agreed to become the primary sponsor for the event through its generous $2,000 donation to the cause.
The event will take place at Glasgow’s historic Plaza Theatre on November 28. Jerry Ralston, Sustainable Glasgow’s President, said “We are happy to be able to produce this event for our community again. Giving local folks, and their visiting friends and families, a reason to stay right here in Glasgow for the Thanksgiving holiday, fits perfectly with Sustainable Glasgow’s mission of reinforcing Glasgow’s economy by spending our food and entertainment dollars locally.”
Tickets for the event will soon be available via the Plaza Theatre ticketing system and constant updates about the event will be available on the event’s page at https://www.facebook.com/GlasgowMidnightSpecial.
Ralston also noted that AT&T representatives will attend Bounty of the Barrens Farmers’ Market on September 6, at 9:00 am, as the market convenes in its alternate location behind BB&T Bank on West Main Street in Glasgow, where they will formally present their donation to Sustainable Glasgow. He also thanked AT&T for their willingness to step up and become the first primary sponsor for the event. “Senator David Givens put AT&T in contact with Sustainable Glasgow, Inc., and their $2000 sponsorship goes a long way toward covering the many expenses related to providing this event for the community. We will soon be asking other local businesses for additional sponsorships to guarantee that the event is first class and that the many performers are properly compensated for their time.”
