It’s baaaaack! For all my rafting homies out there, the Cañon Captain wrap sticka has made an appearance again - this large sticker is ideal for wrapping travel mugs, slim bottles, slapping on gear boxes/ammo cans/you name it. Waterproof, sun and scratch resistant, gloriously colorful - link to shop is in my bio.

✨ Walk the Docks Woven Panel Hat ✨

Magic happens when you walk the docks. These hats were dreamed up in Kodiak Harbor where I was working and painting. The patch piece is inspired by working boats and worn gear, smells of salt and fish and diesel, listening to buoy bells and the clank of shackles and rigging and baiting in preparation for the next trips.

This hat is built to take a beating. Beautifully constructed, this woven panel hat is made by in Bellingham, Washington, and features a custom liner and piping, a vibrant watercolor sublimated patch, and fine twill details.

*these are on SALE rn* (tap to shop in stories and bio!)

Cheers!
- Hailey

This trend when you’re an artist/designer and run the business solo 🥹 …to create the art, write the contracts, design the graphics, make the pitch decks, do the web development, nail the social media, etc?! Ahh if only I had a twin.

All goofin’ aside - it’s been a doozy of a winter. In addition to The State of the World™ 🥶 Alaska has had a brutal season. Extreme negative temps (even for us) for months, almost no snow, and very dangerous avalanche conditions…I’m grateful to be alive. Grateful my people are alive.

On the personal side of things, my family has been going through it with some very serious illnesses and surgeries, and I’ve been back and forth caregiving (enormous hug to anyone who has been that person before ❤️‍🩹).

Skiing has always been my way of finding joy and inspiration, spending time with my people and staying strong in the winter - but this season has been tough in that regard as well: a few weeks back a crash left me with a torn ACL that is teaching me all sorts of unexpected lessons. Namely, that none of us can do it alone.

So no, this hasn’t been the winter of my dreams, there’s been so much heavy stuff, and I really miss movement and being in the mountains. But what I’m learning is that I have the best people in my life. I’ve always known that, but I’m more grateful now than ever, for the extraordinary friendship and love that makes getting through these touch chapters possible ❤️‍🩹 here’s a collection of not art-related, not adventure-related photos of the little moments that have kept me afloat this season.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for replies to emails or art deliveries, thank you 🙏 I’m getting back into the swing of things.

Love,
Hailey

Art is political, and art is a reflection of our humanity, whatever people may desire from those of us that create it. And as an artist, I want to share this:

Before becoming a full-time artist, I was in the military (US Coast Guard) for over a decade. A study in contrast, right? I was a federal law enforcement officer, and fully qualified to conduct statutory missions, including customs and border security operations. I interdicted and deported migrants WITH DUE PROCESS, without ever injuring a single individual. I was a trained tactical operator, training officer, and a law enforcement qualification board leader. I am well versed in the constitution, and the rights of all individuals within US jurisdiction (and on the high seas, yes, that is the technical term). On a personal level, I firmly defend both the 1st & 2nd amendments.

I can tell you with 100% certainty: ICE is conducting illegal, unconstitutional operations, and straight-up murd3ring individuals in cowardly and incompetent acts. ICE’s methods include intimidation, escalation, and reckless violence, and it is ALL of our duties to hold these individuals, this organization, and this country accountable for these actions.

You can desire law and order, & not support ICE’s operations. You can want people to abide by legal immigration processes, & not support families being terrorized & separated & disappeared. You can believe in peaceful protest, & you can believe in a citizen’s right to arm themselves in defense of themselves, their family, their community, and their freedom.

We exist on a SPECTRUM, & the only way we survive as communities is by appreciating these multitudes, our beautiful complexity, & holding ourselves, our community, and our country to more courageous, compassionate, accountable standards.
