👶📚 Introducing Parents and Pages! 📚👶

Join us on Wednesdays at 6 PM for a new program designed especially for parents and little ones ages newborn–24 months.

Through stories, play, and age-appropriate activities, Parents and Pages supports your baby’s cognitive and social development while giving them a chance to learn, play, and grow alongside other little ones. 💚

And parents—you’re invited to connect and chat. Because sometimes the grown-ups need a little social time just as much as the babies do. 😊

Come learn, play, connect, and grow together at the library!

"We have concluded the reason so few are willing to return from the Western country is not that the country is so good, but because the journey is so bad."

In 1810, 20-year-old Margaret Van Horn Dwight embarked on a remarkable journey from Connecticut to Warren, Ohio, through the Connecticut Western Reserve. Along the way, she recorded her observations of the people, landscapes, and hardships she encountered.

Join Ray O'Neill from the Girard Historical Society as he explores A Journey to Ohio in 1810, bringing Margaret's experiences to life through stories, historical context, and fascinating insights into life in the developing Western Reserve during Ohio’s early years of statehood. Discover the challenges of frontier travel and the personality behind Margaret’s journal, from her hopes of finding a husband to her candid — and sometimes cutting — views of her fellow travelers, waggoners, and the Pennsylvania Dutch. Call 330-545-2508 to register. Or go to https://events.getlocalhop.com/journey-to-ohio-in-1810/event/thC8DKNh4v/.

Our teen Halloween event was a SCREAM! 👻 With help from Skye’s the Limit Face Painting & More, our teens got hands-on experience creating some frightfully fun looks. They really nailed the creepy-chic aesthetic.
