South Valley Symphony

South Valley Symphony The South Valley Symphony performs 4 to 5 live concerts from October to May at either Gavilan College, Gilroy or Mission San Juan Bautista.

South Valley Symphony is a non-profit mostly volunteer community orchestra in South Santa Clara County. The Symphony's focus is to perform 4 - 5 classical/POPS concerts for the South Valley communities from October to May; to provide orchestral opportunities for local musicians, and educational support and mentoring to students in school or private music programs

We have a wonderful lineup for our NextGen concert this year! We are featuring the 1st place winner of the 17th Navaroli Young Musician Competition: Sora Corro! Sora will be performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor.

Joining the South Valley Symphony this year will be South Bay Singers and the Gilroy High School Choral Ensembles

Maestro Anthony Quartuccio explains the importance of pacing ourselves and conserving energy. The two pieces we had just finished rehearsing were the Overture the “La Cenerentola” and the first movement to Borodin’s 2nd Symphony, which are two highly energized pieces that demand a lot of physical endurance!
