Here’s a series from six years ago. Each of these began as a colláge, glueing paper, thin slices of wood, and in some cases, gold leaf, to a backing of cotton rag mat board, with no image in mind. The images gradually emerged from those structures, and were brought into being with graphite and inktense pencils, white charcoal, and touches of gouáche. As a series, they form a loose narrative about creative purpose, aging, and mortality. Enjoy.
