AVA hosts art programs and workshops, community events, monthly exhibitions featuring Wyoming and regional artists, and a professional ceramics studio. The Advocacy for Visual Arts (AVA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating the bridge between the Visual Arts and our community in Campbell County and Northeast Wyoming. AVA Community Art Center was formally organized in 1998 by a group

of local citizens and artists dedicated to promoting the visual arts. In 1998, AVA moved into Campbell County’s former Wyoming Department of Transportation building. With help from the city of Gillette, grants, fundraising activities, donations from community members, and countless volunteer hours, the facility was completely renovated in 2003. Since opening our doors in January of 2003, AVA has become a vital and integral part of Northeastern Wyoming’s creative community and is one of the area’s leading choices for art education, expression, and resources.

AVA’s 2026 Summer Bash was a dream, thanks to our wonderful community!💗

What an honor it was to include you all in a beautiful night celebrating 25 years of Art at AVA, we feel incredibly fortunate. Thank you for sharing this milestone with us, you all really know how to have a party!🎉

A National Juried Exhibition, on view in AVA's Gallery in August 2026

"Extinction" explores the disappearance of species, the quiet vanishing of life forms that once shaped our planet. When a species dies out, no living representatives remain. Sometimes this happens slowly, through natural change. Other times, it happens far too quickly, as the environment shifts faster than life can adapt. Today, scientists believe we are living through a sixth mass extinction.

Extinction invites artists to reflect on that reality: the fragility of biodiversity, the urgency of environmental change, and the emotional, spiritual, and ecological weight of loss.
