📣Campbell County Recreation Center is hosting its first camp of the summer May 26 through May 29 for kids in grades 3 through 8.
💠Cost: $125
💠Register through the morning of Tuesday, May 26
💠Ages/Grades: 3rd through 8th Grade
💠Time: 9 am - 3 pm
💠Days/Dates: Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29
💠Location: Recreation Center Field House
✔️Campers must bring their own lunch each day

Join coach Shelly Stremcha, along with Thunder and Camel track employees who will teach youth the essence of track skills in many events while having a fun and exciting experience! The dry sauna will reopen Wednesday, May 20 at 5 a.m.
New rules:
🚫Cell phones and water bottles are not allowed in the dry sauna. Phones and water bottles can be placed in the window or on the patron chairs outside the dry sauna.
✔️Users must be 16 years and older to use the dry sauna.
✔️The temperature will be set at 195-200 degrees.
✔️Failure to comply with the rules could result in suspension of membership or suspension of use from using the facility.
📹A security camera has been installed.

Summer Hours are fast approaching so a reminder about our hours this weekend and for Memorial Day weekend.

This weekend, May 16 and 17, the facility will be open for its normal fall/winter/spring hours on Saturday from 8am - 6pm and Sunday 11am - 6pm.

Monday through Friday, May 18 - 22, we will be open 5am-10pm.

Memorial Day Weekend:
Saturday, May 23: 1-5pm
Sunday, May 24: 1-5pm
Monday, May 25: 1-5pm

Summer hours begin Tuesday, May 26:
Facility Hours
Monday - Thursday: 5am-10pm
Fridays: 5am-9pm
Saturdays: 8am-5pm
Sundays: 1-5pm

Open Swim Hours
Monday - Friday: 1-4pm
Monday - Thursday: 6-8pm

UPDATE as of 5/18/26:
We would like to thank all of our patrons for their feedback and information regarding this incident. The incident was not intended maliciously and we hope to have all repairs complete along with a security camera on the entrance to the dry sauna completed by the end of the week in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Less than 24 hours after re-opening, our newly remodeled dry sauna was vandalized and will be closed until surveillance cameras can be installed. We regret this inconvenience to our patrons.

Day 5 – Friday Cleaning, Maintenance & Project Updates:

Our team continues to work diligently as we complete the final details and preparations.

✔ The leisure pool is now filled and heating.
✔ The dry sauna is nearing completion.
✔ The men’s locker room has been power washed by Public Works.
✔ The Field House has been vacuumed.
✔ The tennis courts have been thoroughly scrubbed.

Multiple walkthroughs are being conducted to ensure no detail is overlooked.

✔ Final finishing work is ongoing, including additional vacuuming, shampooing, and scrubbing, while painting crews continue to make steady progress.

We are excited to welcome everyone back soon and appreciate your continued patience as we complete these final improvements.
