I will be honest: I love the creative aspect of putting together a project. For instance, I love piecing quilting projects and seeing how the colors and shapes come together. It's finishing them, the actual quilting and binding that I don't love. I appreciate the finished results certainly and even the progress, but it's not as much fun as the creation for me.
So, I am pleased to say that I addressed one of my UFO's (unfinished fabric objects, for the uninitiated) while visiting with my mom on Hilton Head this past week, especially as it was a gift for her. I did all the quilting on my old machine. I am grateful to the quilt shop there Island Quilters, Hilton Head and its owner Beth, for graciously allowing me to borrow a rotary cutter and cutting mat to trim the wall hanging and the binding strips. I couldn't have finished without their help while on the island! Please check them out if you are visiting the area. My mom is better at hand sewing than I (and she is retired), so she will finish the binding, and the gift will be in its new home in Arizona. :)
While there, I also worked to wrap up a canvas painting I had been stuck on, and I rescued a stranded turtle. Developed and published several dance classes and the start of summer dance workshops as well--it was a busy week "off." 😉
