Today was the last forge session of the year!
I had a lot of fun teaching week to week, and really getting my fundamentals rock solid. Now though, it’s time to head back to my home forge and get some work done :D

This past week, I competed in the bi-annual TMS Bladesmithing competition with the rest of the team. We managed to get 4th place out of 18 teams! We got the title of “honorable mention” and am all pretty satisfied with the results, but we’ll definitely bring the heat for the next one👀

So I may have splurged a little…
I purchased this beautiful 352lb Sichelschmidt und Schlasse Anvil from about a week ago and it’ll be at my home forge very soon. Sadly I won’t be able to forge on it until late April, but I’ll still be able to drool over pictures of it that my parents send to me😎

Another early photo for y’all:
This was about a year into my “career”. My forge was still bricks and charcoal, and had to be reassembled every time I used it. My anvil was a 15lb cast iron anvil from Walmart, and my stand was a stump that couldn’t for the life of me stay still.

Circa 2016, here’s an ancient picture for you guys.
This was me forging my first knife ever. I was using a brick as an anvil, mild steel as the material, and a brick and charcoal forge powered by a hair dryer to heat everything up. It’s not a stretch to say that I’ve come a decent way.
