Being on Long Island called for a trip to one of the most legendary amusement destinations in America—Coney Island.

Here's The Great Gozleone taking a dip in the Atlantic, but that's only one of the photos from our adventure.

We spent the morning exploring the boardwalk, visiting the Coney Island Sideshow, and taking in a little sideshow history along the way.

The 2026 season opens on Long Island.

The trucks roll in, the bannerline rises, and the midway lights up once again with Dreamland Amusements.

More than 30 rides and attractions fill the grounds alongside fair food, games, and the return of World of Wonders — featuring live sideshow performances throughout the day, the Museum of Marvels, classic bannerline artwork, feats of strength, sword swallowing, illusions, hula hooping, juggling, and more with the unmistakable atmosphere of the old traveling midway.

Long Island has been an important stop on our route for years, and we’re looking forward to opening another season with you under the lights.

Every season begins long before opening day.

Tomorrow at winter quarters, we’ll be unloading one of the largest — and strangest — pieces in World of Wonders history from the show trailer.

It’s something that traveled with the show for years, and moving it now requires professional movers and a full reorganization of part of our storage.

Watching this 1996 behind-the-scenes footage of Ward Hall preparing the World of Wonders for the road feels especially fitting this time of year.

As we prepare to head out for another season, this footage feels very familiar — the organized chaos, the long days, the work of getting a traveling show ready to come back to life.

The midway keeps moving forward, carried by the people who love it enough to keep building it year after year.

LAST CALL — 2026 Performer Applications 🎪

Performer applications for the 2026 season of World of Wonders will officially close on May 15th.

This year’s response has been incredible, and we’ve been excited to see applications come in from both experienced performers and emerging acts from across the variety arts world.

We are still actively reviewing submissions and filling at least one remaining opening for the season.

If you’ve been considering applying, this is the time.

World of Wonders is a historic touring sideshow and Museum of Marvels, bringing live performance to fairs and festivals across the United States since 1951. Touring with the show offers:
• Consistent live audiences
• Multiple performances daily
• Professional touring experience
• Opportunities for media exposure and growth as a performer

🎪 First of May — 2026 Tour Announcement 🎪

For generations, the First of May has marked the traditional opening of circus season in America—the day when shows would begin their route and take to the road.

At World of Wonders, we honor that tradition each year.

While we’re not rolling out just yet, today marks the official start of our 2026 season—and the release of our tour schedule.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be hard at work behind the scenes—preparing the Big Top, refining the show, and getting everything ready to bring a full season of live sideshow performance and the Museum of Marvels to fairs and festivals across the country.
