Something new on the World of Wonders bannerline!

Four new Museum of Marvels banners have joined the lineup, giving fairgoers a glimpse of some of the curiosities waiting inside between shows — with two more still to come.

Come see the new additions at the Spencer Fair, where World of Wonders is today through Labor Day!

Labor Day weekend finds us in New England.

The Spencer Fair

The Spencer Fair proudly calls itself an old-time, traditional country fair — and its Labor Day weekend lineup certainly earns the description.

Oxen and draft horses. Cattle and poultry. Giant pumpkins and antique tractors. Tractor pulls, truck pulls, lumberjacks, live music, demolition derbies, carnival rides and four full days of fair food and entertainment.

And this year, World of Wonders and the Museum of Marvels are joining the festivities on the Grandstand Field.

Look for the bannerline and come inside for live sideshow performances throughout the day, unusual curiosities and a living piece of the American midway tradition.

There are some places where the old-fashioned country fair is still very much alive. We’re looking forward to becoming part of Labor Day weekend in Spencer.

We always enjoy hearing from people who remember seeing World of Wonders on the midway.

In his latest Route 66 video, The Carpetbagger happened to be wearing his World of Wonders “I Fell in Love with a Mermaid” shirt for his shirt of the day. While showing it, he talked about seeing us at the Michigan State Fair, visiting the Museum of Marvels, and seeing our Fiji mermaid.

He also shared how much he enjoyed having a traditional traveling sideshow as part of his state fair experience. After 75+ years on the road, that's especially nice to hear.

With a motto like “We Have Good Things Growing,” you know agriculture is at the heart of the Lawrence County Fair. Livestock, 4-H and FFA exhibits, homemade goods and generations of fair traditions fill the grounds by day — while truck and tractor pulls, rodeo action, demolition derby excitement, rides, games and fair food bring a whole different energy as the day rolls on.
