Hey but hey, tomorrow night TMV Café will be running an old Funky Werepig with one of my favorite people, Bobbi Style. He was more than the Godfather of Goth Rock. He was my brother.
Bobbi was the toughest bad boy I ever knew. Born with CP, spent his life in a wheelchair. But rose to be an 80's icon. You couldn't stop him. In his 50's, he got cancer. Fought that. We were working on Dracula's Winkee together, and I lost touch with him for 3 months. He finally contacted me and said "Sorry, mate. I was in a coma. But I'm on the mend and ready to get back to work." You kidding me?
A few years ago, Bobbi did our YouTube Werepig show. Shortly after, he fell sick. Bad. We pulled the show. A couple months later, Bobbi was gone. I cried for days. We reedited the show in tribute and put it back up. It's called 'The Missing Thanksgiving Show'. Bobbi gave us our Dracula's Winkee theme song. And he's over my shoulder as we drift into autumn.
If you can, check out TMV Café tomorrow night. I know I haven't heard the Werepig episode they're playing in probably 10 years. I'm sure it's filled with Bobbi doing Bobbi things. I'll be smiling. I hope he's smiling too.
