Gerry Rodeo

Celebrating Dolly 9 to 5!

According to storytellers, Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner performed in Gerry, NY in 1971.

This is NOT an actual image, but we picture it to look something like this!

Many of our historians have since passed, and the Gerry Rodeo Committee has struggled to find any images to back up this claim. It is unclear if they were at the rodeo itself, or simply a horse show. Do any of our loyal fans have a picture or memory they can share? We would LOVE to hear from you!

Hey rodeo fans if you're around town, feel free to stop by the Gerry Conference Center for the Miss Rodeo New York, Inc., queen contest. The equestrian part already happened this morning at Dell Performance Horses while modeling and public speaking starts at about 1pm. Open to the public, free of charge.

A huge thank you goes out to this lucky rodeo fan who bought tickets for our Gerry Rodeo Swag Bag! One hundred percent of the money raised from ticket sales for the Swag Bag is being donated to the Roswell Park Breast Cancer Research project. Thank you, rodeo fans, for helping raise money for such a worthwhile cause. See you all next year, August 4-7, 2027.

🏆 LET’S HEAR IT FOR OUR 2026 AGGREGATE GERRY BUCKLE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

After four days of competition, these athletes came out on top and earned the 2026 Aggregate Gerry Buckle! 👏🔥

Congratulations to our champions on an outstanding week and a well-earned buckle!

🤠 Bull Riding: No qualified champion — no bull riders entered all four days, which is required to be eligible for the aggregate title.

A huge congratulations to all of our 2026 Gerry contestants for making it a great week of rodeo! 🏆

❤️ And a special THANK YOU to the Gerry Volunteer Firemen’s Committee for welcoming the First Frontier Circuit back year after year and for being such a wonderful host! Our contestants truly look forward to coming to Gerry every year, and your hospitality, hard work, and support make this rodeo a special stop on the circuit.

We appreciate everything you do and can’t wait to be back next year! 🤠

"Angry again tonight" seems to be the only words to describe the Painted Pony bulls with names like Shark Bait, Killer Clown, Black Sabbath, and Circus Freak, which threw all 14 riders to the arena dirt. One cowboy, Joao Goncalves from Massachusetts, came closest to a successful ride as he stayed aboard his bull for 7.4 of the required eight seconds. After three performances, the score stood at Bulls 56, Cowboys 2.
