🏠✨ WE HAVE A NEW HOME! ✨🏠

We’re so excited to share that, starting today, Firefly Creative is officially based at Heartsong Church in Cordova!

Our offices, storage, rehearsal space for select productions, and performance space will all be at Heartsong for the remainder of our 2026–2027 season — and beyond! We are incredibly grateful to the Heartsong community for opening their doors to us and allowing Firefly to begin making a home here.

We’ll fully transition our programs to Heartsong in the spring, but we’ve already started settling in! Our You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown cast had our very first rehearsal in the new space on Tuesday, and it was so much fun seeing Firefly kids filling these rooms already.

After two years of growing, moving, searching, dreaming, and praying, it feels pretty incredible to finally say: we have a home. 💛

As we begin setting up and improving our new spaces, we’ve also created an Amazon Wishlist with some of the things we need to make Heartsong feel like Firefly! If you’d like to celebrate with us by helping us stock our new home, you can check it out here:

https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/37I5U120FYQCJ?ref_=wl_share

Whether you purchase something, share the wishlist, volunteer, donate, or simply celebrate alongside us, we are so grateful for the incredible community that continues to help Firefly grow.

Here’s to this next chapter — and to catching a whole lot of lightning in our new home. ⚡️💛

ATLANTA, HERE WE COME! ✨

Our 2027 Junior Theatre Festival Firefly Troupe is heading to Atlanta this January! This year, 22 Fireflies will represent Memphis and Firefly Creative, presenting Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR.

JTF is the largest celebration of youth musical theatre in the world, bringing together young performers from across the globe. Our students will learn from Broadway professionals, participate in workshops, see incredible performances, and connect with fellow theatre kids from around the world.

We can’t wait for this life-changing experience and to watch our Fireflies crush it at JTF 2027! 🔥 Junior Theater Festival iTheatrics Music Theatre International

Firefly goes GLOBAL! 🌎 We absolutely LOVE seeing Firefly shirts travel the world with our students!

Adam took Firefly all the way to Belize, exploring ancient Mayan ruins in his 2026–27 season shirt, while Micaiah brought a little Firefly magic to Zambia, Africa in her Mary Poppins shirt! 🇧🇿🇿🇲

And because we can’t resist a theatre connection… just across the continent from Zambia sits a little island you may have heard us talk about once or twice: MADAGASCAR 🇲🇬

From Memphis to Belize to Zambia and everywhere in between, we love knowing that a little piece of Firefly gets to go along for the adventure. Where in the world will Firefly show up next? 🌍

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on our cast! We were also honored to sponsor the performance stage this year and loved getting to see so many incredible Memphis-area artists take the stage throughout the weekend.

Thank you, Germantown Festival, for having us and for creating such a wonderful weekend for our community. We loved being a part of it! 💛

At Firefly, we believe some of the best learning happens when students are trusted to help grow our organization!

Micaiah is serving on our GlowFest Student Planning Committee, and today she put those skills into action — reaching out to a local business and securing a sponsorship for GlowFest! 👏🔥

A HUGE thank you to Rose Construction in Covington for supporting Micaiah, our students, and the work of Firefly Creative! Your generosity helps make accessible theatre experiences possible for young people in our community.

We love giving our students opportunities to learn skills that extend far beyond the stage: how to communicate professionally, make an ask, advocate for an organization they believe in, work as a team, and lead with confidence.

Way to go, Micaiah — and thank you, Rose Construction!

Happiness is…Charlie Brown rehearsals! 💛 This cast is working very hard to craft the best possible show for the community. We can’t wait to share a preview of the show at the The Germantown Festival on September 13th at 4:30 p.m. Come see us!

Peanuts, assemble! 🥜🤝

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown rehearsals are officially underway, and this crew is already bringing all the joy, laughter, and Peanuts charm. 💛

We kicked things off with our first read-through, and we can already tell this one is going to be GOOD, MAN! 🎭✨

And a HUGE thank you to Woodland Hills Church of Christ for so generously opening their doors and allowing us to use their space for rehearsals! We’re incredibly grateful for community partners who make it possible for our students to create, learn, and grow together.

And just like that… OUR 2026–2027 SEASON IS UNDERWAY. ✨🔥

This weekend:

🏔️ We started to CLIMB with The Sound of Music: Youth Edition.
📚 We started a REVOLT with Matilda JR.
🐶 And we got on the bus with You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Three shows. Three incredible groups of young performers. One HUGE season ahead.

There is something so special about the first weekend—the nervous energy, the new friendships, the music filling the room for the first time, and that feeling that we’re standing at the very beginning of catching lightning in a bottle ⚡️🫙

This year, our theme is RISE.

Rise to the challenge. Rise for each other. Rise with confidence. Rise after failure. Rise into who you’re becoming.

And this weekend? We took the first step.

Firefly’s 2026–2027 season has officially begun. ⚡️ Let’s RISE. 🔥✨

08/18/2026

Excitement is in the air! Our 2026–2027 season officially kicks off Friday and Saturday with 106 kids in The Sound of Music: Youth Edition and Matilda Jr. 🥳🎉 Each of these scripts represents a student ready to try something new, grow in confidence, and create something unforgettable. Let’s go! 🎶🏔️📚🦎
