🎶🎵 CONCERT ALERT 🎵🎶 Now that the kids are back to school, we’re back to the music!

Bach to Memphis: Musical Dances From Around the World kicks off our season this Friday at noon with a lunchtime concert at Germantown Community Theatre.

The concert will feature our two new Iris Artist Fellows, Samuel Rolim, violin, and Alvaro Miranda, cello, performing alongside Marcin Arendt, violin, and Kimberly Patterson, cello. The music will be a kaleidoscope of dance music spanning both geography and generations. Coffee and donuts will be provided, but you’ll need to bring your own dancing shoes.

On stage, in classrooms, and community spaces big and small, Iris Collective shines a light through music.

At First Methodist Church downtown, we were honored to participate in a special community concert, Holding Space–Music & Lunch. Iris musicians, with guest artist Vijay Gupta, shared chamber music performances with individuals experiencing homelessness while they enjoyed lunch and a moment of rest.
The May performance marks the beginning of a partnership between Iris Collective and Hospitality Hub, which works to end homelessness in Memphis.

We’re with Iris Artist Fellows Alexandre Negrão and Roberta dos Santos and the Germantown Performing Arts Center Youth Symphony.

Did you know that Iris Collective is a season partner of the Youth Symphony? Iris Fellows coach middle school chamber music students at the Youth Symphony every week. Students also perform on stage alongside professional Iris Collective musicians, finishing this season on a high note with their April concert.

Everyone loves a cello party!

For more than 15 years, Iris musicians have helped students at Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) discover the joy of music through engaging sessions that support speech, auditory, and motor skills.

This year, we launched Every Voice a Song, a project partnership that uses the power of music and storytelling to create original lullabies for MOSD families. Inspired by Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project, Every Voice a Song helps parents and caregivers of children with hearing loss create original lullabies that celebrate love, connection, and family stories.

From Memphis to Greece? Now that's a trip worth talking about. ✈️🎶

Memphis has always been known for sharing its music, culture, and creativity with the world. This time, it's a trauma-informed music program that started right here at home.

Recently, Iris Collective and Thistle & Bee traveled to Greece to present the program at an international arts and health conference, bringing a Memphis-born idea to a global stage.
